Full Job Description

Job Summary

Lancaster Container is seeking an enthusiastic, responsible, and customer-oriented individual that has a positive attitude and shares the values of our company culture, which is built around teamwork, family, honest communication, and producing desirable results for our Washington Boro, PA manufacturing facility.

Function:
The Inventory Assistant will be responsible for day-to-day maintenance of the item master, reconciliation of daily and or weekly inventory variances, assisting the General Manager and Office Manager on daily analysis of materials in the plant and provide administrative support.

Duties & Responsibilities:

You will provide the day-to-day operational and data management support to the Lancaster Container plant and sales teams. The Inventory Assistant will provide direct execution of the following activities:

Assist with research and reconciliation of daily/monthly inventory variances.
Maintenance and set-up of newly requested part numbers.
Supports the General Manager/Office Manager with the analysis of the material being used in the plant. Provide recommendations for the movement and or disposal of inventory. Document root cause and suggest best practices.
Provides general administration, word processing, and data entry support.
Works with outside suppliers on status updates, flow of materials to and from their facilities, and expected delivery schedules.
Providing support to the production team for inventory control, production reporting, and inventory movement.
Assists with scheduling of production runs with the General Manager.
Take a leadership role during physical inventories.
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

Associate degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or other technical discipline that is relevant to assigned responsibilities.
1+ years of experience in an inventory role or 2-4 years’ experience in general administrative support within a manufacturing environment.
Proficient in Excel.
Willingness to learn inventory methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impact.
This role benefits from an understanding of both the inventory process and the manufacturing process
Work well with a diverse group of people at all levels of organizations
Ability and willingness to work along-side co-workers to understand customer needs and drive improvements which create value for the company.
Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.

Ability to:

Ability to manipulate and analyze large data sets.
Work independently with minimum supervision solving problems and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
Take initiative to plan and complete assigned work with a high level of accuracy.

Lancaster Container was founded in 1976 to provide customers with a dependable steel pail. In the beginning, Richard Pflumm saw a need locally in the marketplace for pail production. The company started by servicing Armstrong. Since that time, they have expanded to a much larger and broader customer base. Currently, they provide pails and containers to customers all over North America. Currently, we have two locations in Pennsylvania that support customers throughout the United States. Our goal is to continuously provide our customers with quality pails through excellent service at an outstanding value.
