Position Summary
Hurst Logistics is seeking a dependable, motivated Warehouse Lead to oversee daily warehouse operations and lead our warehouse team. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating shipping and receiving activities, maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring a safe work environment, and helping achieve productivity goals while providing excellent customer service.
The ideal candidate has warehouse leadership experience, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise warehouse employees during daily operations.
- Assign work and monitor productivity to meet operational goals.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Verify incoming and outgoing freight for accuracy and damage.
- Maintain accurate inventory and assist with cycle counts.
- Train new employees on company procedures and safety practices.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, drivers, customers, and management.
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
- Assist with scheduling and resolving operational issues as they arise.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of warehouse experience.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
- Experience with warehouse management systems and inventory software.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), such as SAP
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and climb.
- Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment safely.
