Job Description:
Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) is seeking to hire a temporary Facilities Project Engineer to provide onsite support for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) Facilities Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations (FEMO) contract located on Edwards Air Force Base, CA. The duties of the FEMO is to modify, maintain, and operate AFRC facilities and infrastructure in support of changing mission requirements, while minimizing adverse impact to research operations and employees; complying with Federal, State, local, and NASA regulations and requirements. This position is not remote or hybrid eligible, employee will report on-site. Candidates must possess a degree in engineering or related sciences.
The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $114,816 Annual Salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications. US citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.
This position is temporary and not to exceed 1 year.
Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in drafting and review statements of work (SoW), performance work statements (PWSs), Preliminary Engineering Reports (PER), specifications, cost estimates, schedules.

Performing timely reviews of design drawings and specifications to verify technical accuracy and contract compliance.

Update configuration-controlled drawings and BIM models in AutoCAD/Revit.

Maintain Maximo CMMS data including PMs, assets, and work orders.

Participate in project meetings and prepare status briefings.

Ensure compliance with IBC, NFPA, UFGS, OSHA, NASA NPRs or similar specifications.

Develop project‑specific construction specifications in SpecsIntact or similar tools.

Use ArcGIS to create updated facility maps showing utilities, space use, and project sites, etc.

Coordinate design reviews in Bluebeam to manage progress of projects.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher, in Mechanical Engineering or related science and have a minimum of 1 year of construction management experience.
Preferred Qualifications

VDC - Virtual Design & Construction

Experience supporting NASA, DOD, or federal facility programs.

Experience with Bluebeam Revue.

Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Maximo CMMS, and ArcGIS.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:

Must be multi-task oriented, and capable of prioritizing project schedules to perform inspections.

Must be detail oriented.

Must be able to work with a team of technicians and engineers to support best practices to accomplish specific mission requirements.

Must understand mechanical, structural and electrical drawings and schematics

Needs to have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills (both oral and written) particularly with other technicians and engineers.

Need to work well with, co-operate with, and support clients, supervisors, and co-workers

Able to work in a dynamic and multi-task environment by prioritizing and coordinating task/project schedules.

Follow safe practices in OSHA standards.
- May be required to obtain and maintain security clearance.
Physical Requirements

Ability to inspect and survey construction sites, climb ladders, and enter confined spaces.

Ability to work indoors/outdoors in varying environmental conditions.

Able to work extended hours at a computer or desk (considerations: sitting, eye strain, and hand strain)

Must work onsite core hours of 8:00 AM–3:00 PM, but actual start times may vary, depending on workload."
