MUST BE FROM LANCASTER AREA

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Appointment Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patient appointments, verifying insurance information, and ensuring smooth communication between patients and medical staff.

Duties

Schedule and coordinate patient appointments efficiently across multiple clinics or departments
Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility checks using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or other EMR/EHR platforms
Review and update patient records ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Assist with documentation review related to care plans, billing codes (CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9), and medical records management
Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette to handle appointment inquiries and patient follow-ups
Perform insurance verification procedures and communicate coverage details to patients
Support front desk operations including patient check-in/out processes and filing of medical records
Maintain accurate documentation of appointment schedules and patient interactions using Microsoft Office tools or specialized office management software
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient questions promptly and courteously
Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth clinic operations and ensure timely patient flow

Skills

Familiarity with health information management practices and HIPAA compliance standards
Experience with insurance verification processes for Medicare and other providers
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing appointments and medical records
Effective communication skills including phone etiquette and bilingual abilities are a plus
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment with office experience in medical or dental clinics
Prior experience supporting medical administrative functions such as intake procedures, care plan coordination, or front desk operations
