At Homeland Outfitters, we are dedicated to equipping law enforcement, fire, EMS, military, and public safety professionals with the equipment, apparel, firearms, and solutions they rely on every day. We are seeking a motivated professional to join our team in a unique hybrid role that combines Retail Store Associate, Customer Service, Sales, and Account Management.
This position is ideal for someone with a background in retail management, public safety, emergency services, or outside sales who enjoys building relationships, and helping first responders find the right solutions.
Position Overview
As the Retail Associate & Public Safety Account Manager, you will help oversee daily retail operations while also managing relationships with public safety agencies, identifying new sales opportunities, and supporting business growth. This role offers a dynamic blend of retail leadership and business development in a mission-driven environment.
ResponsibilitiesRetail Operations & Leadership
- Assist with daily retail store operations
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally
- Support employee hiring, onboarding, and training
- Help manage inventory, purchasing, receiving, merchandising, and stock levels
- Maintain an organized, professional, and customer-focused retail environment
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
Account Management & Business Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with EMS, fire departments, law enforcement agencies, municipalities, and other public safety organizations
- Identify opportunities for new business and account growth
- Conduct customer meetings both in-store and at customer locations
- Support the sales process from lead generation through proposal development and closing
- Follow up on open quotes, customer inquiries, and sales opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales activities
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer needs within the public safety market
QualificationsRequired
- Previous leadership experience in a retail, sales, or customer-facing environment
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management abilities
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Familiarity with firearms and related equipment
- Must be legally eligible to possess firearms under state and federal law
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Highly Preferred
- Experience working in Fire Service, EMS, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Military, Emergency Management, or Public Safety
- Experience selling to or working directly with public safety agencies
- Background in account management, business development, or B2B sales
- Experience recruiting, hiring, and training employees
- Knowledge of uniforms, duty gear, firearms, tactical equipment, or public safety products
