Full Job Description

JOB TITLE: Organist

DEFINITION:

Fawn Grove Community Church seeks a dedicated and musically gifted Organist to enhance worship through music, support congregational singing. This position plays a vital role in creating a meaningful worship experience aligned with the church’s mission and traditions

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Organist Responsibilities:
Provide organ music for weekly worship services, including preludes, postludes, offertories, and hymns.
Coordinate music selections with the Pastor and/or Worship Leader.
Accompany congregational singing and special music.
Provide music for special services such as Christmas, Easter, funerals, and weddings (as available, as needed).
Report any maintenance needs for Organ
Plan/attend rehearsals as needed for special music or services.
Coordinate special music presentations for holidays and special services.
Work collaboratively with other musicians and worship leaders
General Responsibilities:
Support the spiritual mission and values of Fawn Grove Community Church.
Communicate effectively with church staff and volunteers.
Assist in planning hymns/songs worship services as needed.
Other duties as assigned by the Pastor or church leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficiency in playing the organ; piano skills also preferred.
Experience in church music ministry preferred.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with church staff and volunteers.
Dependable, punctual, and professional.
A personal commitment to supporting the mission and ministry of the church.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

6-8 hours per week (includes services & compensated practice time)
The role requires availability on Sundays and may include occasional evenings or special services.

SALARY: $36-$40 per hour. Starting rate negotiable based on experience.
