Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Receptionist, where your energetic and welcoming personality will set the tone for a positive patient experience. In this vital front-office role, you will be the first point of contact for patients, managing appointments, handling insurance verifications, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Your proactive approach and excellent communication skills will contribute to a friendly, efficient, and organized dental environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your administrative and clinical support skills within a thriving healthcare setting.

Duties

Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming atmosphere upon arrival
Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits, including health insurance knowledge and Medicare guidelines
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes with accuracy, including documentation review and data entry
Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly
Assist with medical collection processes, billing, and coding using ICD-10, CPT coding, and Meditech or Epic systems
Maintain accurate medical records and electronic health records (EHR) management in compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies
Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and managing medical records
Conduct insurance verification and follow-up on outstanding claims to ensure timely payments
Provide exceptional patient service by addressing concerns professionally and maintaining a high standard of customer service

Requirements

Proven experience as a Medical receptionist or Dental receptionist in a clinical or dental office environment
Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth
Familiarity with medical billing, medical coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and insurance procedures including Medicare
Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and office management software
Ability to handle multi-line phone systems and demonstrate effective phone communication skills
Knowledge of dental terminology and clinical confidentiality policies to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
Bilingual abilities are highly preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing tasks
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and courtesy
