Job Summary

Application Support Assistant

Employment Status: Part-Time

Position Summary

The Part-Time Application Support Assistant provides operational, technical, and application support for the company's payment processing systems and internal users. This position assists with client setup and maintenance within the Jack Henry RemitPlus platform, application testing, payment operations, SOC audit support, ticket management, and basic in-office IT support. The role also supports quality assurance activities, including scanline testing, test deposit processing, and monitoring daily production processes to ensure accurate and timely payment operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Application & Client Support

Assist with setup and configuration of new clients within the Jack Henry RemitPlus application.
Add and maintain payee information for existing clients.
Update and maintain Customer Information File (CIF) records.
Perform routine application maintenance and data updates while ensuring accuracy.
Monitor daily processing activities and end-of-day file transmissions, identifying and escalating exceptions as needed.
Recreate, regenerate, and securely retransmit end-of-day files to clients as requested or when operational issues require.
Assist in identifying and resolving processing issues, escalating when appropriate.
Maintain documentation related to application processes and procedures.

Ticket Management

Manage, prioritize, and complete assigned support requests through the Zoho ticketing system.
Track ticket status and ensure timely resolution of routine requests.
Document work performed and communicate updates to internal stakeholders.

Operations Support

· Configure and adjust projects on OPEX scanners as needed.

· Perform scanline testing to validate client setup changes, application updates, and operational processes.

· Process and verify test deposits to ensure accurate payment processing and client configurations.

· Support operational workflows related to payment processing.

· Assist with testing application updates, enhancements, and new processes.

· Assist with gathering, organizing, and submitting documentation and evidence for SOC audits and other internal or external compliance reviews.

· Coordinate with internal departments to fulfill audit requests in a timely and organized manner.

· Maintain documentation to support operational processes and compliance requirements.

· Participate in special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives.

Basic IT Support

Provide first-level technical assistance for employees in the Okemos office.
Troubleshoot basic workstation, printer, scanner, monitor, and peripheral issues.
Assist employees with software access and general technology questions.
Coordinate with the company's Managed Service Provider (MSP) when issues require advanced technical support.
Help facilitate workstation moves, equipment replacements, and basic office technology setup.

General Responsibilities

Maintain confidentiality of client and company information.
Comply with all company policies, operational procedures, information security requirements, and applicable regulatory and compliance standards.
Communicate effectively with team members and internal departments.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or equivalent.
1-3 years of administrative, operations, application support, or IT support experience.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to successfully pass a background check.

Preferred

Experience supporting financial services, banking, or payment processing applications.
Experience with Jack Henry RemitPlus or similar banking/payment software.
Experience using Zoho or another help desk/ticketing system.
Familiarity with OPEX scanners or document imaging systems.
Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems, printers, networking, and office technology.
Experience working with customer data or financial information.

Ability to learn new software applications quickly.
High degree of accuracy when entering and maintaining data.
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues methodically.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Ability to document processes and maintain accurate operational records.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Willingness to adapt to changing priorities.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
Occasional lifting and moving of computer equipment, printers, or related office equipment up to 30 pounds.
Ability to move throughout the office to provide technical assistance.

Work Schedule

Part-time position.
Approximately 20-25 hours per week (flexible based on business needs).
On-site in the Okemos, Michigan office.
Additional hours may occasionally be required to support system implementations, production issues, emergency operational events, or special projects.
