Flour Child Bakery & Cafe – Grand Ledge, MI

Flour Child Bakery & Café is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our fast-paced, award-winning kitchen. We're looking for someone who can take charge of a station, perform under pressure, and keep a kitchen running smoothly during both busy rushes and slower periods.

What You'll Do

Run a station efficiently during busy rushes with 1–2 other cooks
Work the line solo during slower times while staying productive with prep, stocking, and cleaning
Follow prep lists, keep par levels stocked, and maintain FIFO rotation
Keep your station clean, organized, and running smoothly
Complete all kitchen closing responsibilities and leave the kitchen fully ready for the next day
Support prep work for café service and occasional on-site catering prep

What You Bring

1–3+ years of professional line cook experience (breakfast/lunch experience is a plus)
Ability to stay calm, fast, and accurate during high-volume service
Strong communication skills — especially during coordinated rushes
Reliable, self-motivated work ethic
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks during slower periods
Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and food safety
Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and stand for long periods

Schedule

Daytime shifts
Hours generally between 5am - 8pm
Weekend availability required
