Summary
The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for the purchasing and inventory in a healthcare setting. Plans and forecast business needs/orders. Devises policies and procedures in the area of procurement and inventory control. Which includes inventory control: ordering all necessary medical and office supplies, maintaining appropriate inventory for all medical and office supplies, receiving and stocking of all medical and office supplies to their assigned areas. Provides support to multiple site locations. May have additional responsibilities designated by the Clinical Director.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role oversees department or location specific accountabilities. Is responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, and other objectives and performance outcomes
Essential Functions

Maintain inventory and PAR level for all clinic, pharmaceutical and office supplies.

Consider best price, quality, availability, and reliability when purchasing products.

Ensure materials and parts in the supply chain meet the minimum requirements for quality assurance standards.

Place purchase orders for all locations.

Develop policies and procedures in the areas of procurement, inventory control, receiving, storage and distribution, of supplies throughout the multiple locations.

Interface directly with all departments in the company with regards to materials that have been requested to ascertain specifications and need.

Coordinate the maintenance of supplies in the company in emergencies.

Maintains sources of emergency supply items from other health facilities and vendors.

Maintain relationships from various distributors for all supplies throughout the company.
- Receiving and stocking, invoicing, using general ledger (GL) codes

Follow established safe practices for receiving hazardous substances.

Coordinate productive hours, space, equipment and expense as they relate to materials department.

Ensures healthy flow throughout supply chain.

Monitor and manage repairs of equipment through vendors.

Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements.

Performs other duties as requested by management.

Financial analysis as required to support department goals.

2-year minimum college education in Supply Chain Management, Healthcare, or related field, or equivalent of 5-7 years of experience.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

A high level of interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to identify and resolve problems and gain cooperation from others.

Analytical skills to conceptualize solutions, organize activities to reach goals, and ability to plan future courses of action to achieve desired results.
Leadership and Management Experience
Leadership requirements that are job-related and consistent with business necessity:
