Sharp Tool is seeking a Laser Tracker to join our growing team. The Laser Tracker is responsible for setting up and operating laser equipment to support the manufacturing and inspection of precision tooling. This role involves the ability to work with engineering specifications, maintain quality standards, and support manufacturing schedules and continuous improvement efforts.

About the role
Shift: First Shift – 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Overtime: Saturdays as needed
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate laser equipment to support manufacturing and inspection of various tooling
- Ability to review and interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications
- Maintain quality and safety standards while adhering to established procedures and processes
- Perform measurements and verify settings to ensure accuracy of components
- Assist with calibration of equipment on a routine basis
- Maintain records and documentation related to manufacturing and inspection activities
- Maintain equipment and supplies by supporting preventive maintenance and following manufacturer guidelines
- Maintain continuity between shifts by documenting and communicating work performed, issues, and priorities
- Report any nonconforming materials and in-process workpieces
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- All other duties as assigned
- Oversee daily welding operations to ensure projects are completed on time and within quality standards
- Coordinate workflow, prioritize jobs, and manage production schedules
- Assign tasks based on project requirements, team skillsets, and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with laser equipment operation or similar manufacturing equipment
- Ability to use basic measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, scales)
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to interpret and understand GD&T
- Experience with material handling equipment such as overhead cranes (certification preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Familiarity with automotive and aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001)
- Knowledge of industry practices (e.g., ITAR, FOD, 6S)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in manufacturing or a related field preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, machine operation, or related environments preferred
- Ability to develop proficiency in job-related equipment, tools, and systems
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 30lbs
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, balance, rotate trunk, and stand for long periods
- Ability to work in a manufacturing floor environment, often involving exposure to noise, machine oils, chemicals, and sharp tooling
