Laredo is one of the busiest trade corridors in North America and we are right at the heart of it. We are looking for a sharp, organised, and dependable Logistics Coordinator to keep our freight and transportation operations moving efficiently across the border and beyond.
About the Role
This is a fast-paced, high-volume logistics role in one of the most active freight markets in the country. You will be coordinating domestic and cross-border shipments, managing carrier relationships, and making sure every load moves on time, on budget, and fully compliant. If you thrive under pressure, communicate well, and know how to solve problems quickly — this role was built for you.
Day to Day
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments across domestic and cross-border routes
- Book, schedule, and confirm loads with carriers, brokers, and freight partners
- Track shipments in real time and proactively resolve delays, exceptions, and disruptions
- Ensure all cross-border documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant including customs paperwork and bills of lading
- Communicate daily with carriers, drivers, warehouses, and internal teams to confirm schedules and resolve issues
- Maintain accurate records of shipment activity, carrier performance, and freight costs
- Support import and export compliance in line with US and Mexican customs regulations
- Generate daily and weekly logistics reports for operations and management teams
- Identify opportunities to improve transit times, reduce costs, and strengthen carrier relationships
- Assist with the onboarding and evaluation of new carriers and freight vendors
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum two years of experience in a logistics, freight, or transportation coordination role
- Direct experience with cross-border freight between the US and Mexico is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with customs documentation, import and export compliance, and border crossing procedures
- Proficient in transportation management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a significant advantage given the nature of operations in Laredo
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment
- Detail-oriented, organised, and calm under the pressure of a high-volume freight operation
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred but not required with relevant experience
What Success Looks Like
Within 90 days you will have a solid command of our carrier network, shipment workflows, and documentation requirements. Within six months you will be independently managing daily freight operations and contributing to process improvements that make our logistics function faster and more reliable.
