Full Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, safety-focused, and proactive Quality Control Technician to join our manufacturing team. This is a hands-on position working directly on the production floor, inspecting glass and polycarbonate laminated products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with customer specifications and company quality standards. This is not a desk job and requires continuous hands on and interaction with production operations, employees, and department leaders.

The Quality Control Technician serves as a key resource in maintaining product quality, supporting operational excellence, and fostering a positive culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Perform visual and dimensional inspections of glass products throughout production.

· Identify defects including scratches, chips, breakage, contamination, distortion, coating issues, and other quality concerns.

· Verify products meet customer specifications, drawings, and quality standards.

· Conduct quality checks at various stages of production and packaging.

· Perform routine audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, products, workstations, and quality systems.

· Document inspection and audit results accurately and maintain required quality records.

· Communicate quality concerns promptly to production supervisors, operators, and management.

· Maintain ongoing communication with all departments to ensure quality expectations and standards are understood and achieved.

· Assist with investigations of quality issues and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

· Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality procedures and work instructions.

· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

· Provide constructive feedback and support to team members regarding quality requirements and expectations.

· Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

· Consistently follow and enforce all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.

· Interact and ensure success with outside certification organizations.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

· High School Diploma. Secondary education a plus.

· Previous manufacturing, quality control, inspection, or auditing experience preferred.

· Experience in glass manufacturing highly preferred.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects.

· Ability to read and interpret work instructions, specifications, drawings, and measuring devices.

· Basic computer skills for data entry, reporting, and documentation.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.

· Ability to make objective quality decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

· Self-motivated with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.

· Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and moving throughout the production area.

· Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

· Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production equipment.

· Must be able to visually inspect glass products with a high degree of accuracy.
