Roadrunner® Food Bank of New Mexico, a Feeding America member, is the largest non-profit dedicated to solving food insecurity in New Mexico. As a food distribution hub, we provide food to hundreds of affiliated member partners around the state including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and regional food banks. We also distribute food through specialized programs helping children, families and seniors at schools, low-income senior housing sites, senior centers and with and through health care partnerships. Every week, tens of thousands of hungry children, seniors and families are reached through this statewide hunger relief network. You can expect us to offer the best salary up front with no room for negotiation. Once hired, employees have the opportunity to progress through salary ranges via regular merit increases and step promotions. We pay 85% of the medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums for employees, and 75% for their dependents, including domestic partners. Position Overview
The Warehouse Associate - LC is responsible for product movements in the warehouse, supporting the execution of Food Safety and Quality Team mandates, picking and putting away orders, waste disposal, housekeeping, and organizing supplies and materials (pallets, cleaning equipment, etc.). The Warehouse Associate - LC is responsible for communicating any issues involving product placement accuracy, inventory accuracy, safe handling and storage of food, equipment, and supplies to the appropriate Managers. This position is Grant Funded under HB- 1 funding through June 30, 2027. The continuation of the position after June 30, 2027, is dependent on the securing of additional funding.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Performs product movements, put-aways and pick orders as assigned
- Completes training for warehouse power equipment and operate forklifts (stand-up and sit-down models), manual pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, riding pallet jacks, trash compactor, and bailer
- Responds to and executes assigned duties related to findings during Food Safety and Quality Team inspections
- Assists Inventory Team with counts, investigations, and restocks of returns as needed
- Removes waste and / or expired product from building in a timely manner
- General warehouse housekeeping such as sweeping, mopping, cleaning racking, cleaning and maintaining minor equipment, and other related housekeeping tasks
- Communicates any issues related to safety, storage of product and equipment, process deviation or anything impacting operations negatively in an effective and timely manner
- Leads by example and enforces safety as well as food safety policies
- Adheres to Roadrunner Food Bank’s Safety policies and mandate from Food Safety and Quality Team
- Provides excellent internal/external customer service
- Treats all stakeholders with respect and sets the same expectation with team members
- Assists other warehouse teams as needed
- Supports Job Training Program by acting as a guide and mentor for Job Training Participants

- Performs all other related duties as assigned
Competencies
- Ability to complete and maintain a company certified forklift training program within 30 days of hire date
- Comfortable using technology including barcode scanners, data input and working with a product database
- Ability to complete and maintain Food Safety Training certification
- Literacy skills required

Travel Required
Required Education, Licenses, Certifications, and Experience
- Previous experience using Microsoft Suite of applications (specifically Teams/Outlook)
Preferred Education, Licenses, Certifications, and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
- Prior food handling experience and safety training (e.g. FIFO)
- Customer service experience

- Legally authorized to work within the United States
