# Concrete Pump Operator

About Build-X LLC

Build-X LLC is a locally owned general contractor based in Las Cruces, New Mexico, serving public, commercial, institutional, and residential clients throughout Southern New Mexico. Our work includes public schools, municipal facilities, medical offices, commercial developments, civil and site construction, custom homes, and outdoor living spaces.

We self-perform key construction activities and hold ourselves to high standards for quality, safety, and schedule performance. We are growing and building a team of people who want to grow with us long-term.

What This Job Actually Is

This is a physically demanding, outdoor construction trade role. Before you apply, we want you to understand exactly what you are getting into.

During training (up to 30 days): You will work as a pump assistant at $150/day. The work is hands-on and physical. You will be learning equipment, process, and jobsite expectations from the ground up.

After training, a Concrete Pump Operator earns $300/day. This is a skilled trade with real earning potential.

The work environment includes

Southern New Mexico heat and sun — outdoor work year-round
Physically demanding tasks throughout the full shift
Early start times when pour schedules require it
Active jobsites with heavy equipment, pressurized hoses, concrete trucks, and crews depending on you

This is not a good fit for someone looking for light work, a temporary paycheck, or a job to hold until something else comes along. If that is your situation, this role will not work out for either of us.

What You'll Do

Operate a concrete pump safely and efficiently from setup through breakdown
Set up and break down equipment at job sites
Perform pre-use and post-use equipment checks and report any mechanical issues
Work around concrete trucks, hoses, forms, and active jobsite crews
Follow all safety procedures and jobsite requirements
Maintain focus and professionalism throughout physically demanding shifts
Work independently once trained — you will own this role

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who has done hard physical work before and is not surprised by it. The right candidate has a track record of showing up, sticking with something difficult, and building skills over time — not someone who moves from job to job when the work gets tough.

This is a strong fit if you

Have background in construction, concrete, equipment operation, agriculture, oilfield, military, or any physically demanding trade
Can commit to and complete the 30-day training period at $150/day
Want to master a skilled trade and stay in it long-term
Take safety seriously without being told to
Are self-directed and can eventually run a job without being managed through every step

Preferred

Bilingual in English and Spanish
Any hands-on experience with construction equipment, concrete, or pumping
OSHA 10 or other safety credentials are a plus

Valid driver's license
