Posting Details

The New Mexico Behavioral Health institute - Meadows Long term Facility is located on Las Vegas, New Mexico. It provides long term and skilled nursing service. the facility has 162 nursing home, skilled-nursing living beds. Services for residents are provided 24/7, focusing on maintaining or improving their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being under a personalized plan of care
developed by licensed health professionals.

This posting will be used for ongoing recruitment and may close at any time. Applicant lists may be screened more than once.
Why does the job exist?

Provide direct personal care and related support to long-term care facility residents to maintain quality care services and provide an optimum quality of life. Ensures adherence to Department of Health and facility policies and procedures.
How does it get done?

Answer patient call signals, signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine patients' needs.
Turn or reposition bedridden patients.
Provide physical support to assist patients to perform daily living activities, such as getting out of bed, bathing, dressing, using the toilet, standing, walking, or exercising.
Review patients' dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences to ensure patient receives appropriate diet.
Measure and record food and liquid intake or urinary and fecal output, reporting changes to medical or nursing staff.

Minimum Qualification

High School Diploma and two (2) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties of the classification. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid NM Drivers License.

Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.

1. SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITIONS--This position ls designated as safely sensitive. Employment Is subject to pre-employment and random testing. In accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules, and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Employment ls subject to nationwide criminal background checks and is conditional pending results.
2. CRIMINAL RECORDS BACKGROUND CHECK-Must successfully complete post offer pre-employment criminal records background check. Employment is conditional pending the results of criminal records background checks. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Working Conditions

This position will work in an office setting with exposure to Visual Video Display Terminal, personal computer, and phone usage. The work is in a psychiatric hospital setting with patients who struggle
with mental illness and could present with unpredictable behavior.
