Executive Overview
Citadel Security USA is seeking an accomplished Regional Vice President of Operations to provide executive leadership and strategic direction across assigned districts and contracts. This position carries responsibility for regional business performance, service delivery, client retention, organizational development, and profitable growth.
The Regional Vice President of Operations will directly lead District Managers, Program Managers, and other regional leaders while establishing operating standards, performance expectations, and strategic priorities. This position works closely with the Chief Operating Officer and executive leadership on market expansion, organizational scaling, operational improvement, and long-term business strategy.
The successful candidate will bring strong financial discipline, executive presence, operational expertise, and the ability to lead through multiple levels of management across a geographically dispersed organization.
Regional Operations Leadership
- Provide executive oversight for assigned districts, contracts, and posts across the region.
- Directly manage, coach, and develop District Managers and Program Managers.
- Establish regional operating priorities, performance goals, and accountability measures.
- Conduct regular reviews of district and contract performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Serve as the primary executive escalation point for significant operational, client, or personnel matters.
- Establish consistent expectations for service delivery, compliance, quality, and operational execution.
- Ensure company standards, procedures, SOPs, and post orders are consistently applied across assigned operations.
- Evaluate organizational structures, staffing requirements, and resources as regional needs evolve.
Profit & Loss and Financial Performance
- Maintain accountability for regional profit and loss results across assigned districts and contracts.
- Drive revenue growth, margin improvement, labor efficiency, and disciplined cost management.
- Review and approve district budgets, capital expenditures, and significant purchasing decisions within established authority.
- Analyze financial results, operational KPIs, labor costs, overtime, and other performance indicators.
- Identify financial risks and develop strategies to improve regional performance.
- Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and financial planning for new and existing contracts.
- Hold District Managers accountable for budget performance and responsible labor management.
- Prepare and present regional forecasts, business reviews, and financial results to the COO and executive leadership.
Executive Client Relationships & Business Development
- Serve as an executive sponsor for key regional and national client relationships.
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Participate in executive-level client meetings, contract reviews, and strategic account planning.
- Address escalated client concerns and ensure corrective actions are implemented when service expectations are not met.
- Monitor client satisfaction, retention, account performance, and opportunities for expansion.
- Support new business development, contract negotiations, proposals, pricing strategies, and client onboarding.
- Partner with sales and business development leadership to identify opportunities for regional growth.
- Help develop strategies that strengthen long-term client relationships and account profitability.
Compliance, Safety & Quality Assurance
- Maintain regional accountability for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, contractual requirements, and company standards.
- Oversee audits, inspections, quality reviews, and compliance assessments across assigned districts.
- Review significant safety, compliance, and operational incidents and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Partner with Legal, Human Resources, Safety, and other support functions on regulatory matters and risk mitigation.
- Identify contractual requirements, client requests, or post orders that may create operational or compliance risks.
- Direct corrective action plans when deficiencies are identified.
- Promote consistent safety practices and professional standards across all levels of regional operations.
- Monitor recurring quality or compliance concerns and implement long-term solutions.
Workforce Leadership & Organizational Development
- Develop a strong management structure capable of supporting regional growth and operational consistency.
- Coach District Managers, Program Managers, and other regional leaders on performance and leadership expectations.
- Lead regional recruitment, succession planning, leadership development, and talent-management initiatives.
- Establish clear performance expectations for direct reports and hold leaders accountable for results.
- Support employee engagement, retention, professional development, and leadership continuity.
- Administer performance management and corrective actions in accordance with company policy.
- Develop management talent capable of assuming greater operational responsibility as the organization grows.
- Promote a culture centered on accountability, safety, professionalism, and service excellence.
Strategic Planning & Organizational Growth
- Partner with the Chief Operating Officer and executive leadership on regional and company-wide strategic initiatives.
- Evaluate opportunities for expansion into new markets and support regional growth planning.
- Assist with the operational planning and integration of new contracts, markets, and acquisitions.
- Support due diligence and transition activities associated with mergers, acquisitions, and market expansion.
- Champion technology, reporting platforms, and process improvements that increase efficiency and visibility.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen scalability, profitability, and service consistency.
- Translate organizational strategy into measurable regional objectives and operational priorities.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives as a member of the extended leadership team.
Executive Reporting & Decision Support
- Provide executive leadership with clear updates regarding regional financial, operational, staffing, client, and compliance performance.
- Prepare and present business reviews, forecasts, performance reports, and strategic recommendations.
- Use operational and financial information to identify emerging risks and opportunities.
- Establish meaningful performance measures and monitor progress against regional objectives.
- Communicate strategic priorities clearly to management teams across the region.
- Maintain discretion when handling confidential financial, personnel, client, and business information.
- Provide recommendations to executive leadership based on operational data, business conditions, and regional performance.
Additional Responsibilities
- Coordinate or direct regional emergency response efforts when required.
- Represent Citadel Security USA at client functions, industry events, and executive meetings.
- Support due diligence, integration planning, and operational transitions for acquisitions or new market launches.
- Assist with significant client escalations and business continuity matters.
- Participate in strategic projects and other initiatives assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.
- Perform additional responsibilities necessary to support regional and organizational objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license.
- Seven to ten years of progressive leadership experience in security operations, business management, operations management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-site or multi-district operations.
- Proven ability to directly lead managers, including District Managers, Program Managers, or comparable regional leadership positions.
- Demonstrated responsibility for profit and loss performance across multiple locations, contracts, or business units.
- Strong understanding of operational planning, financial performance, client service, and workforce management.
- Excellent executive-level communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical ability, and business judgment.
- Ability to manage competing priorities across a geographically dispersed organization.
- Ability to travel regularly between assigned districts, client locations, and company offices.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant executive leadership experience may be considered.
- Previous experience directly managing District Managers or equivalent regional leaders.
- Experience with contract negotiations and executive-level client relationships.
- Demonstrated success managing regional budgets and improving profitability.
- Experience supporting business development, strategic account planning, and market expansion.
- Experience with acquisitions, integrations, or new-market launches.
- Relevant professional certifications or industry credentials.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and operational systems used for scheduling, reporting, payroll, workforce management, or performance tracking.
