Full Job Description

The Assistant General Manager — Growth & Operations is a challenging, rewarding, and fast-paced leadership position for someone who wants to help build and grow a business.

This is not a traditional desk or front-office management job. The Assistant General Manager will work directly across sales, digital marketing, member experience, and day-to-day academy operations. On any given day, that may mean following up with prospective members, conducting tours and closing memberships, analyzing marketing performance, using AI to improve a business process, solving an operational problem, helping a parent, supporting staff, or ensuring that the academy is clean, organized, and operating at a consistently high professional standard.

A major responsibility of the position is growth.

The Assistant General Manager will be responsible for managing and continuously improving the academy’s entire digital marketing stack, including:

Google Ads
Meta Ads
Instagram
Facebook
Email marketing campaigns
Text/SMS campaigns
Lead capture and follow-up systems
Landing pages and conversion flows
CRM and lead-management processes
Basic analytics, attribution, and campaign performance reporting
Use of AI tools to improve marketing, sales, content, analysis, and operational efficiency

This person will not simply coordinate with an outside agency or occasionally post on social media. They will be expected to take meaningful ownership of campaign execution, testing, measurement, lead quality, conversion performance, and ongoing improvement across our digital channels.

The role also includes helping manage and improve our lead-to-member sales process, welcoming prospective members, conducting tours, closing memberships, supporting retention, developing community partnerships, and identifying new opportunities to grow the academy.

Our ideal candidate is highly organized, technologically savvy, comfortable adopting new AI tools, and able to operate effectively in a high-energy environment where priorities can change quickly. Experience in digital marketing, sales, fitness, or martial arts is strongly preferred. Candidates who combine experience across several of these areas will be particularly well suited for the position.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial person who takes ownership of problems, communicates well, enjoys working with people, and wants responsibility. The successful candidate should be equally comfortable thinking strategically, analyzing performance data, speaking with prospective members, and rolling up their sleeves to handle whatever needs to be done to make the academy successful.

The position offers a defined path toward greater leadership responsibility within Renzo Gracie Latham. Our long-term objective is to continue growing the academy's free cash flow and build an increasingly professional organization, including the eventual introduction of employee benefits such as health, dental and vision insurance and a retirement plan.

Compensation includes competitive base cash compensation, complimentary access to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Striking, and Yoga, and the opportunity to participate in performance-based profit sharing tied to the academy's financial performance.

For an exceptional candidate who demonstrates long-term commitment, strong leadership, and a meaningful ability to create enterprise value, we may also consider additional equity or equity-like participation in the future. Any such arrangement would be based on performance, tenure, mutual fit, and the long-term interests of the academy.
