Full Job Description

Responsibilities:

- Schedule surgeries and procedures for patients, ensuring efficient use of operating room resources
- Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to schedule surgeries and ensure all necessary paperwork and documentation is completed
- Communicate with patients to provide pre-operative instructions and answer any questions or concerns they may have
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and scheduling information
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Collaborate with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorization for surgical procedures
- Assist in the coordination of equipment, supplies, and personnel needed for surgeries
- Provide administrative support to the surgical department as needed

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in surgical scheduling is REQUIRED.

-Urology experience is preferred.

- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, such as Epic, is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements
