Job Title: Accountant II
Employment Type: 3 - months Contract
Location: Fort Lauderdale FL 33312

I came across your profile and wanted to share an exciting Accountant II opportunity with a leading healthcare organization. If you have experience with General Ledger accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting, this could be a great fit for you.

Position Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing general ledger month-end journal entries, ensuring compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), and supporting accurate financial reporting. You will work within one of several functional accounting teams while maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare and record month-end journal entries for assigned functional accounting areas.

· Ensure all journal entries comply with US GAAP and company accounting policies.

· Review journal entries for accuracy, proper GL account usage, and financial statement classification.

· Maintain appropriate supporting documentation for all journal entries.

· Assist with account reconciliations and month-end close activities.

· Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies for timely resolution.

· Collaborate with cross-functional accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

· Support accounting functions such as:

· Cash Accounting

· Fixed Assets Accounting

· Corporate Accounting

· Payroll Accounting

· Inventory & Supplies Accounting

· Lease Accounting

· Health Plan Accounting

· Intercompany Accounting

· Grant Accounting

· Physician Group Accounting

· Joint Venture Accounting

· Investments & Foundation Accounting

· Contract Labor & Utilities Accounting

· Evaluate the impact of accounting transactions on financial statements.

· Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or an equivalent field.

· Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.

· Strong understanding of General Ledger accounting.

· Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).

· Experience preparing journal entries and supporting month-end close.

· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Proficiency with MS Excel and accounting/ERP systems.

Preferred Qualifications

· Healthcare accounting experience.

· Experience with financial statement preparation and account reconciliations.

· Experience working in multiple functional accounting areas.
