Full Job Description

We are looking for a bright, cheerful, warm and compassionate individual who enjoys interacting with people to join our team. You are a highly motivated, reliable, self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced medical practice. As the first person to greet our patients, you will play a critical role in the success of our office.

Position Summary:

As our front desk receptionist you will be responsible for greeting patients, obtaining all necessary and relevant information about our patients and verifying and collecting co-pays and balances all with a pleasant and upbeat style. You will also be answering phones, scheduling patients and responding to patient's questions.

You will manage the day-to-day process efficiently with daily audits, reports and corrections to ensure claims are not held up in the clearinghouse.

Duties include:

Greeting patients as they come into the office

Checking patients in, insurance verification, collecting co-payments, balances, registration paperwork

Answering the phone in a professional and courteous manner

Registering and making appointments via phone

Answering inbound calls within a few rings

Manage the front desk and reception area keeping it clean and tidy

Qualifications:

Minimum Education: High School or Equivalent

Minimum Experience: 3 years medical receptionist (required)

Languages: English (required) Spanish (preferred) Hebrew (preferred)

Working knowledge of general office duties

Working knowledge of contracted insurance plans, calculating patient responsibility

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent telephone skills

Demonstrated ability to use a computer with Word, Excel, Outlook and EMR software and excellent typing skills; ECW preferred

Excellent customer service skills in person, phone and email

Strong organizational skills with an ability to multi-task

Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy

Assist with any additional tasks or projects as needed to support the team

Have a natural initiative to assist where needed and a willingness to learn

Must be authorized to work in the US and complete a drug screening and background check
