Full Job Description

Our client in Beltsville, Maryland, is seeking a Production Supervisor to join their team!

This is an onsite /full-time/direct-hire position
Salary range based on experience: Up to $70k

Position Overview
Hands-on Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations, ensuring production goals, quality standards, safety requirements, and labor efficiencies are met. Supervise a team of 20+ employees in a fast-paced production environment while partnering closely with Production, Quality, and Shipping teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily production activities to meet output, quality, and service goals.
Supervise, train, coach, and develop production employees.
Monitor productivity, labor utilization, waste reduction, and operational efficiencies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and KPI performance.
Maintain a safe work environment and oversee plant safety programs.
Conduct performance evaluations, employee coaching, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
Coordinate with cross-functional departments to ensure on-time production and shipment of products.
Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience in the related field
Must be a self-starter and be able to successfully execute initiatives with minimal guidance and accomplish stated goals.
Excellent team player able to take direction and strike a balance while providing strong leadership
Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Proven success in leading and motivating employees through consistent, effective, and fair methods
Regularly supervises up to 20+ employees, including such tasks as hiring, performance evaluations, assigning work, merit increases, promotions, reclassifications, discipline and discharge, and complaint resolution
Success in training, developing, and providing direction to staff
Must lead by example at all times and be a role model to the leads and operators on the plant floor while treating people with respect, dignity, and professionalism
Acts in a firm, fair, and consistent manner
Handles pressure very well
Experience with hiring, training, and problem-solving; able to lead, coach, and mentor others
Demonstrate decision-making and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships at various levels
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to work as needed, particularly during high-volume periods, to ensure that departmental objectives are accomplished
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time

Ideal Candidate:

3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading 20+ employees.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to motivate teams and drive productivity improvements.
Experience with safety programs, employee development, and performance management.
Comfortable working on the production floor in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma experience is a plus.
