Job Summary:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff throughout clinic facilities. This position supports infection prevention efforts and ensures all assigned areas meet health, safety, and regulatory standards while promoting a positive patient experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED
-
Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience

Experience in a healthcare or medical setting

Training in infection control or healthcare cleaning practices
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
-
Clean and sanitize exam rooms, patient rooms, waiting areas, restrooms, offices, and common areas according to established clinic protocols
-
Disinfect high-touch surfaces including doorknobs, light switches, exam tables, chairs, counters, and other frequently used areas
-
Follow infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, and organizational guidelines at all times

Properly handle, store, and dispose of waste materials, including biohazard waste when applicable

Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and restroom necessities
-
Safely mix, use, and store cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer and organizational instructions

Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors, furniture, and surfaces
-
Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or equipment issues to the supervisor

Maintain cleaning schedules, logs, and documentation as required

Provide courteous and professional interactions with patients, visitors, and staff
-
Support a safe, clean, and welcoming environment throughout the facility
-
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitization methods, preferably within a healthcare environment

Ability to follow detailed instructions and established cleaning procedures

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform physical tasks for extended periods

Ability to perform repetitive motions such as mopping, wiping, dusting, and vacuuming

Ability to push, pull, and maneuver cleaning equipment and supplies as needed

Work Environment:

Primarily works in indoor clinical and office settings

Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals and disinfectants

Possible exposure to bodily fluids and biohazard materials
