About the Role
This role is built around two kinds of judgment: creative judgment and media judgment. We need both in the same person.
The creative half. You generate the campaign ideas — concepts, angles, hooks, offers, headlines, and scripts. You write the copy and set the visual direction, then brief our media and graphics team to produce the finished assets, and you review that work until it is right. You are the one in the room who says "here is the idea, and here is why it will land."
The media half. You decide where each campaign runs and on what schedule. You own the budget across a broad and diverse spectrum of media — social platforms, paid search, video, our website and landing pages, email, direct mail, and live events — and you move money toward what performs.
Running through both. We want someone who works with AI rather than around it — using it to concept and test creative faster, research audiences, and make sense of performance data. Just as important is the judgment to know where AI genuinely sharpens the work and where it quietly makes it worse.
Today the majority of our spend runs through the dominant social advertising platforms and the leading paid search platform, so fluency with those environments is essential. We also want to expand deliberately into short-form video platforms, streaming and connected TV, broadcast, and other channels where our audience is already spending its attention. Part of this job is telling us which of those is worth testing, designing the test, and reading the result honestly.
This is a hands-on role with real ownership. It is not a coordinator seat, and it is not a role where a strategy gets handed to you. We set salary against demonstrated ability, not years served. Where you land in that range depends on what you can show us: the size of the budget you have personally owned, the campaigns you originated rather than inherited, and the results you can document. A candidate who has run a six-figure budget end to end and can walk us through the numbers behind three campaigns they invented starts near the top of the range.
What You Will Actually DoCreative Concept and Development
- Generate original campaign concepts and bring them to leadership with a clear rationale — why this angle, this audience, this offer, this moment.
- Write the advertising copy: headlines, body copy, calls to action, video scripts, captions, and email and direct-mail copy.
- Set the visual direction and brief the media and graphics team clearly — references, storyboards, specs, and the intent behind the ask — then review, redirect, and approve until the asset does its job.
- Stay hands-on when speed matters. You should be able to rough out a concept, cut a quick video, or build a creative variant yourself rather than wait in a production queue.
- Adapt one strong idea into every format its channels require: vertical and square video, static graphics, carousels, display sizes, longer-form video, print and mail pieces, on-site and email placements.
- Keep brand voice, visual identity, and message consistent across every channel we appear in.
- Build and maintain a creative library so proven concepts can be refreshed and re-run rather than rebuilt from scratch.
Media Planning, Placement, and Timing
- Decide where each campaign runs and when — channel mix, budget weighting, scheduling and dayparting, seasonality, and how touchpoints sequence across a prospect’s path.
- Build and launch campaigns in social media, direct mail, video, as well as event and email marketing, spanning search, display, automated performance campaigns, and video placements.
- Own the advertising budget: allocate spend across platforms, campaigns, and audiences, pace it against monthly and annual targets, and flag variances early.
- Manage day-to-day performance — bid strategies, audiences, retargeting, placements, frequency, and creative rotation — and catch waste, audience overlap, and creative fatigue before month-end.
- Run structured A/B tests across creative, copy, offers, audiences, and landing pages, and document what each test taught us.
- Shape landing pages, lead forms, and conversion paths so ad clicks turn into qualified leads.
- Report on spend, cost per click, click-through rate, cost per lead, conversion rate, and return on ad spend, with a clear recommendation for where budget should go next.
- Maintain the tracking that makes those numbers trustworthy: platform pixels and server-side conversion APIs, in-platform conversion tracking, web analytics, and consistent UTM tagging.
Channel Expansion
- Evaluate emerging platforms and formats and tell us which deserve a test — with a point of view, not a trend report.
- Design controlled tests with a stated hypothesis, a capped budget, a success threshold, and a decision date.
- Translate a channel that works into a repeatable program: creative templates, placement cadence, tracking, and reporting.
- Bring an informed opinion on where our audience is actually moving, and be candid about where our money is better left alone.
AI Tools and Workflow
- Use AI tools fluently in day-to-day work — creative concepting and variation, copywriting drafts, image and video production, audience and keyword research, data summarization, and reporting.
- Integrate AI into our marketing workflow in practical, repeatable ways: prompts, templates, and lightweight automations that shorten production cycles without lowering quality.
- Evaluate and recommend new AI platforms and features as they emerge, with a clear-eyed view of what actually improves output versus what is noise.
- Apply sound judgment and brand standards to AI-assisted work — fact-check claims, protect confidential and client information, respect platform and industry advertising rules, and keep a human review step on anything that goes public.
Organic Search, Content, and Social (Supporting)
- Create and repurpose content for web pages, blogs, email, and social media, extending the themes that prove out in paid campaigns.
- Manage social media for all relevant channels, including organic content and a working content calendar across a broad and diverse spectrum of media.
- Optimize content for SEO and apply AEO and GEO principles to improve visibility in answer engines and AI-powered search.
- Monitor comments and messages, escalate reputation concerns, and keep our brand presence consistent across all platforms and business listing profiles.
How You Will Work With Our Team
You will work directly with leadership and alongside our in-house media and graphics team. That makes briefing a core skill: you need to turn the idea in your head into direction someone else can execute, without a dozen rounds of revision.
What Success Looks Like
In your first 30 days: you know our offers, audiences, and history; you have audited every active campaign and our tracking setup; and you have brought us an honest read on what is working and what is wasting money.
By 90 days: you have launched campaigns you concepted yourself, you are running the budget on a documented pacing plan, reporting is on a predictable cadence, and at least one new channel or format is in a controlled test.
By the end of your first year: cost per qualified lead is trending down, our creative output is faster and more consistent, we are present on channels we were not on when you started, and you can show the numbers behind each of those claims.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of direct, hands-on ownership of paid advertising — you have personally built, launched, managed, and optimized live campaigns. This is a firm requirement.
- Demonstrated experience personally managing a six-figure annual advertising budget, including allocating spend, pacing it through the year, and accounting for the results it produced.
- Hands-on campaign-management experience in multi-modal digital media, including both paid social on the dominant social advertising platforms and paid search on the leading search platform, at meaningful scale.
- A solid working understanding of AI systems and how to use and integrate them — practical, demonstrated use of AI tools for creative production, research, analysis, and workflow automation, plus the judgment to know where AI belongs in a process and where it does not.
- Hands-on creative capability — you can write the copy and produce or direct the visuals and video that run with it, using current design, video, and AI-assisted production tools.
- Fluency with performance data — comfortable pulling numbers from ad platform dashboards and web analytics and turning them into a spending decision, without waiting for someone to build you a report.
- Working knowledge of audience targeting, retargeting, bid strategies, conversion tracking, and A/B testing methodology.
- Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals, content planning, and organic social media.
- Ability to manage deadlines, communicate directly with leadership, and work on-site full-time.
Please note: hands-on campaign and budget management is the central requirement of this role. Applications limited to organic social media, content, or SEO experience will not move forward.
