Employee Benefits Insurance Producer — Architecture and Engineering (A&E) Client Niche

Commission · Own Your Book · Part-Time to Full-Time · Hybrid (Phoenix, AZ)

Aston Sharp is a boutique employee benefits brokerage specializing in engineering, architecture, and land-surveying firms with 10-250 employees. We write and service medical, dental, vision, life, disability any many more types of plans for our clients. We've spent six years building a proven sales system — and we're looking for a producer to run it and own the book they build.

Why this is different from a salaried insurance job

Most agencies pay you a base, give you a small cut, and keep your book. We do the opposite: a higher split, and you own your book of business with trailing commissions that continue even after you move on. You're building an asset, not just earning a paycheck.

A proven system — not “unlimited potential” hype

We give you the recipe and the tools; you make the calls:

● Targeted outreach sequences aimed at professional civil engineering, architecture, and land-surveying firms

● A 47% response rate on those sequences and six years of refined lead data

● Automated email cadences and a renewal-tracking engine that recycles every prospect 90–120 days before their next renewal

● A full service and account-management team that handles clients once you win them — so you sell, not service

Our track record: producers working this system at ~12 calls per day have historically generated ~$90K in new annual recurring revenue per year. Add your own prospecting and industry events and $150K+ is well within reach.

Our ACEC advantage

We have a close relationship with the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) and the ACEC Life/Health Trust, and we sit on the broker advisory council. That gives our clients access to enterprise-level benefits programs typically out of reach for small-to-mid-size firms (10–100 employees) — a genuine door-opener when you're calling engineering and design firms.

What we're looking for

● Active Life & Health license (or lapsed and willing to reinstate)

● Some insurance or B2B sales experience; group health background a strong plus

● Self-directed and coachable — comfortable making calls and working a defined sales process

● Comfortable with a commission-only structure while you ramp

Compensation

● 50% commission split on business you write, with full ownership of your book and trailing commissions

● Our service team handles account servicing — your renewals are an asset you own, not extra work

● Because you own your book and earn on renewals, your income compounds year over year. Established producers build recurring revenue that grows well beyond first-year figures — the difference between earning a salary and building an asset

● Commission-only (no base at this stage). The generous split and book ownership are why — you're building your own practice on our platform

● Estimated earnings: $50,000 in year one while ramping, scaling to $250,000+ for established producers with a mature book

Details

● Hybrid / flexible schedule with approximately one day per week in our Phoenix office for team collaboration and training

● Independent contractor position (1099)

● Minimum expectation: complete your assigned call sequences (~12/day)
