Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Rockwall, Texas. This role is responsible for coordinating and leading daily maintenance activities while actively participating in equipment troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, changeovers, equipment installations, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Maintenance Supervisor serves as the senior maintenance resource on shift, providing technical guidance, work direction, and coordination of maintenance priorities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This position works closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Sanitation teams to maximize equipment uptime, reliability, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily maintenance activities to support production objectives and achieve plant KPIs.
- Assign, prioritize, and coordinate maintenance activities based on safety, production requirements, equipment reliability, and business needs.
- Perform equipment changeovers, repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities as required to support production operations.
- Coordinate and ensure completion of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with established schedules and procedures.
- Assess equipment condition and identify opportunities to improve reliability, performance, and asset life.
- Install, repair, and calibrate mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions in a timely manner and coordinate resources to minimize downtime.
- Lead root cause investigations and support implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, waste reduction, and equipment reliability.
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and commissioning activities.
- Monitor maintenance work order quality, completion, and documentation within the maintenance management system.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, machine logs, downtime reports, calibration records, and work orders.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Sanitation departments.
- Coach, train, and support maintenance technicians in troubleshooting, repair techniques, and maintenance best practices.
- Follow and promote compliance with all safety, food safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and foster a positive, collaborative team environment.
- Communicate equipment status, maintenance priorities, and shift activities to the Maintenance Manager and plant leaders.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical education, apprenticeship training, industrial maintenance certification, mechatronics training, or equivalent industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience working in high-speed manufacturing, packaging, food processing, or related industrial environments.
- 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years in a maintenance lead role.
- Demonstrated experience leading, training, mentoring, or coordinating maintenance personnel.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, motors, bearings, gearboxes, and power transmission systems.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, OEM manuals, and exploded assembly drawings.
- Basic computer skills for work order management, maintenance reporting, and documentation.
- Strong communication, leadership, teamwork, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating maintenance activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Lead, Lead Hand, Senior Maintenance Technician, or similar leadership role.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
- Experience with servo motors, servo drives, VFDs, and motion control systems.
- Welding and fabrication experience; TIG welding preferred.
- Forklift and aerial lift certification and/or operating experience.
- HVAC certification, electrical licensing, or related technical certifications.
- Experience using CMMS software (eMaint, SAP, Fiix, MP2, etc.).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Continuous Improvement, or Reliability-Centered Maintenance principles.
- Experience with predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, thermal imaging, lubrication analysis, or precision alignment.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, GMPs, and sanitary equipment practices.
- Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, and reliability improvement initiatives.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to work at heights when necessary.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and manufacturing environments.
Pay: $39.00 - $44.00 per hour
