Full Job Description

We’re looking for a dynamic, outgoing, and detail-oriented Event Manager to join our team at The Cider Gallery in Lawrence, Kansas! If you’re passionate about event management and have experience in hospitality, bartending and bar operations, this role is perfect for you. The ideal candidate enjoys meeting new people and working in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure smooth day-of execution for public and private events
Oversee event setup, execution, and teardown
Supervise event staff and bartenders, handling bar operations and bartending
Manage facilities, vendors, and client requests during events
Operate audio/visual equipment, handle cash drawers, and maintain venue cleanliness
Communicate with clients, addressing their needs and ensuring a seamless event experience from start to finish.
Directly support the Events Director as needed; handling inventory, scheduling, and more.

Requirements:

3+ years in bar operations or assistant management in the service industry
Knowledgeable in a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work flexible hours, mainly nights and weekends
Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Excellent communication and client service skills

Tools & Technology:
Experience with point-of-sale systems, bar equipment, and A/V systems is preferred.

Benefits & Salary:

Competitive hourly pay + tips, $20/hr base pay
Average of 15-35 hours/week, weeks will vary based on season
Health Insurance is available through Bates Co with a minimum of 25hrs weekly
