Accounting Manager Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years of accounting/finance management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Comprehensive knowledge of, and ability to apply, GAAP standards
Experience with general ledger management and account reconciliation
Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
Proven ability to work effectively with colleagues and regulatory personnel
Strong computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel
Experience with or ability to learn timekeeping and payroll systems
Ability to obtain and maintain a Gaming Commission license and pass background check and drug screening
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Effective leadership and customer service orientation

Accounting Manager Preferred Background & Skills

Experience with Great Plains accounting system and FRx Report Writer
Knowledge of gaming regulatory requirements including NIGC, MICS, and Oklahoma State Compact
Leadership experience mentoring or developing team members

Accounting Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Direct and mentor team members, promoting growth and maintaining a positive, team-oriented environment
Lead daily accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
Oversee and ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
Recommend and implement economic strategies and financial policies
Participate in business planning sessions and financial reviews with management
Support operational budgets, compliance, and reporting to regulatory agencies
Assist in managing property cash flows and coordinating audits
Provide ongoing training and support for team members on payroll and timekeeping systems
