Davis Behavioral Health (DBH) is seeking a part-time Office Specialist - Front Desk to join its Clinical Support team for the Annex outpatient clinic located on the Layton/Kaysville border.

As a member of the Clinical Support team, the Office Specialist – Front Desk positions perform essential tasks related to making clients feel welcome and valued when they check in for appointments. Office Specialists are the first point of contact for most of DBH clients when coming for treatment and creating the critical first impression. The Office Specialist - Front Desk must be able to perform the following essential job functions:

Gather client and insurance information efficiently and accurately.

Request, collect, and process co-payments and other payments from clients at the time of service, including cash payments.

Convey all necessary information related to the client's appointment.

Work within DBH's electronic medical record system and have a working knowledge of HIPAA and other privacy laws.

Answer telephones, screen calls, take messages, and provide information to the appropriate source, when necessary.

Monitor the work area, including the clinic lobby, to ensure that it remains safe, secure, professional, and well-maintained.

Be knowledgeable about the crisis system and know when and how to activate it.

Perform basic office operations, including signing for and coordinating pickup of delivered packages, communicating with other DBH employees about appointments and appointments, and other tasks related to daily business functions.

Other duties and responsibilities and needed and assigned.

All other duties as assigned related to the needs of the organization.
The clinical support staff at DBH provide the first impression for its clients and play an important role in helping clients who may be struggling with their mental health, which is why providing excellent customer service in a prompt manner is critical.
In addition to the essential job functions outlined above, the following responsibilities are assigned to your specific position.

Confirm appointments for DBH Medical Director/Layton campus outpatient psychiatrist.

Manage and document activities related to the Layton A Behavior standard operating procedure (SOP), including loitering, disruptive behavior, pet policy, and no smoking policy.
The schedule for this position is:

Monday through Thursday 1:30 pm to 7:00 pm

Friday 12:30 pm to 5:00 pm
The Annex outpatient clinic is located at 952 South Main Street, Layton, Utah 84041.
Education
-
High school diploma, or equivalent.
Certification/Licensure
-
Must complete First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
Training
-
Complete all required training that is assigned to the Office Specialist – Front Desk (Layton A) position by defined deadlines.
Required

Minimum of two (2) years of exemplar professional customer service or medical office experience.
Preferred
-
Previous work experience in a behavioral health clinic or agency.
Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.

All employees at DBH must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check as well as a pre-employment drug screening. Since Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants the company and its employees must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.

Spanish speaking is a bonus.
The starting wage for this position is $18.25 per hour. This position is classified as regular part-time and has a non-exempt status. Hours shall not exceed 29 in any given week.
A Spanish-language incentive stipend of $28.85 per bi-weekly pay period is available for qualified applicants. Must pass a Spanish assessment.
Part-time employees at DBH are not eligible to participate in the company's benefits program other than access to the EAP.
