Collars Dog Resort is a modern dog daycare and boarding facility created by people who are passionate about dogs. We designed our resort to provide Kansas City-area pet owners with a transparent, professional, and dependable place for their dogs to play and stay.
Our Olathe team is made up of dedicated animal lovers who work together to provide a safe, clean, and positive experience for every dog in our care.
We are currently seeking responsible and energetic individuals to join our team as Canine Care Team Members.
What You Will Do
In this role, you will help care for dogs participating in daycare and boarding services. Much of your day will involve supervising dogs, monitoring their behavior, maintaining clean play and boarding spaces, and helping the team keep daily operations running smoothly.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Watching and managing dogs during supervised group play
- Interacting with dogs in a safe and positive manner
- Learning to recognize canine body language and behavior signals
- Responding quickly to potential behavior or safety concerns
- Using approved dog handling and group management techniques
- Helping dogs remain safe, comfortable, and engaged throughout the day
- Cleaning and disinfecting playrooms, kennels, boarding areas, and equipment
- Removing dog waste and keeping indoor and outdoor areas sanitary
- Vacuuming, mopping, cleaning glass, emptying trash, and completing general housekeeping duties
- Assisting with feeding, water, and other basic care tasks as directed
- Supporting the front lobby and helping with client needs when requested
- Communicating clearly with team members, supervisors, and management
- Following all company safety, security, and animal care procedures
- Completing other duties needed to support the facility and the dogs in our care
What We Are Looking For
The best candidates for this position are dependable, observant, hardworking, and comfortable in an active dog care environment.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Previous experience caring for dogs or other animals preferred but not required
- Experience may be professional, volunteer or personal
- Comfort working with dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages and energy levels
- Interest in learning more about dog behavior and safe handling practices
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stay calm and focused in a busy environment
- Willingness to perform regular cleaning and sanitation duties
- Reliable attendance and a positive attitude
Experience in dog daycare, dog boarding, kennels, veterinary clinics, animal shelters, pet sitting, dog walking or other animal care settings is helpful but not required.
Physical Demands
This is a hands-on position that requires frequent movement throughout the facility.
Applicants must be able to:
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Bend, kneel, reach, and complete repetitive cleaning tasks
- Move safely around active groups of dogs
- Work around barking, pet hair, odors, water and animal messes
Availability
Because Collars Dog Resort provides daycare and boarding services throughout the week, scheduling flexibility is important.
