Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HVAC/Plumbing Estimator to join our growing construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for HVAC and plumbing systems on commercial construction projects. Your expertise will help drive project success by providing precise budgets, managing material and labor costs, and collaborating closely with clients, contractors, and project teams. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your construction industry experience in a fast-paced environment that values innovation, accuracy, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret project requirements for HVAC and plumbing systems.
Utilize estimating software such as Bluebeam, ProCore, Fast-Pipe, Fast-Duct to develop detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Manage project budgets by accurately estimating material requirements from blueprints and reviewing construction drawings to identify scope of work.
Conduct thorough cost analysis and control to ensure estimates align with project budgets while maintaining competitiveness.
Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing and terms that support project profitability.
Collaborate with project managers and clients to communicate estimates clearly, address questions, and refine proposals as needed.
Review construction management software and spreadsheets regularly to track costs, update estimates, and manage changes throughout the project lifecycle.
Interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately to estimate material quantities and identify potential challenges early in the planning process.
Support contract review processes by understanding scope of work, terms, and conditions related to HVAC/plumbing systems.
Assist in managing multiple projects simultaneously by prioritizing tasks effectively while maintaining high accuracy in all estimations.

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience
Proven experience managing projects as a construction estimator within the HVAC or plumbing sectors; commercial construction estimating experience is highly preferred.
Strong proficiency with estimating software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Fast-Duct, Fast-Pipe along with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans for accurate cost estimation.
Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
Solid understanding of construction management software tools used for cost control and project tracking.
Knowledge of construction industry standards including contracts, project management principles, and cost management strategies.
Ability to estimate material requirements from blueprints efficiently while considering factors like material costs and lead times.
Effective client communication skills to present estimates clearly and respond promptly to inquiries.
Construction site experience is a plus—familiarity with on-site operations enhances estimation accuracy.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
