JOB The Engineering Design Technician for Stormwater performs technical work of inspecting and verifying that construction projects are built in accordance with the submitted plans and specifications. Reviews plans and specifications to ensures that they meet, or exceed Federal, State, and County standards. The schedule for this full-time position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

- Drives and/or operates a county vehicle or equipment and must obey all safety policies, and roadway rules and laws.

Receives and investigates timely citizen complaints, makes recommendations, and documents findings.

Inspects County owned drainage retention areas for compliance with Environmental Resource Permits (ERPs).

Inspects residential and commercial construction sites to ensure compliance with Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).

Performs data collection tasks, such as asset inventory and other data collection as necessary.

Inputs data into various software programs to maintain and update the County’s GIS.

Assists in maintaining the County’s National Pollution Discharge and Elimination System (NPDES) permit requirements and reports.

Assists with data collection and answer citizen’s questions related to the Stormwater Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU).

Addresses timely citizens and contractors’ questions by phone, email, and/or in person.

Meets and coordinates with other county, state and federal staff as needed.

Attends staff meetings, conferences, and other special events.

Performs other duties as required.
