Front Desk Associate (Full-Time) — Avaloch, Lenox MA

About Avaloch

Avaloch is a year-round inn in Lenox, Massachusetts, directly across the road from Tanglewood. We run a 19-room lodge plus a main house (12 additional rooms) currently under renovation, and we're building toward the re-opening of our bar/restaurant (The Ostrich Room), new cafe, and new event spaces. It's a small team where everyone's work is visible, and the summer season (roughly June through October) is fast-paced and guest-facing.

The Role

You're the first person guests meet and the voice on the phone. You'll handle check-ins and check-outs, reservations, guest questions, and the day-to-day flow of the front desk. You'll also be the person who keeps things moving between housekeeping, maintenance, the pool, and the bar/restaurant.

Schedule

This is a Thursday through Monday role, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. That means you'll work weekends and holidays, which are our busiest and most important days for guests. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are a 2pm-10pm shift.

What you'll do

Greet and check guests in and out, and manage reservations in our property management system
Answer phones and respond to guest emails and texts
Handle payments and daily folio work accurately
Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance on room readiness and guest requests
Share local knowledge: Tanglewood, dining, and the Berkshires
Communicate our renovation clearly and warmly so guests know what to expect
Solve problems calmly when things don't go to plan
Shuttle guests up and down the driveway in our golf cart
Help guests will luggage as necessary

What we're looking for

Warm, reliable, and comfortable with people
Strong communication and attention to detail
Able to juggle several things at once and pitch in wherever needed, from the desk to a guest request to a quick assist elsewhere on the property
Comfortable learning new software (we'll train you on our systems)
A real interest in hospitality and making people's stays better
Prior hotel, hospitality, or customer service experience is a plus, not a requirement
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Pay: $20/hr starting rate
Location: 10 Richmond Mountain Road, Lenox, MA 01240 (on-site)
