The Prospect is a hotel and lakeside retreat in the Berkshires. Inspired by the Transcendentalists and a love of the great outdoors, The Prospect is a convivial, whimsical welcome to adventure and possibility in Egremont, Massachusetts.

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and detail-oriented Front Desk Associate to join our team. As a Front Desk Associate, you will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service, handling guest check-ins and check-outs, managing reservations, and ensuring that all guest needs are met during their stay. The ideal candidate should be a strong communicator, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and be passionate about creating a positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and check in guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
Process guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Handle reservations, cancellations, and modifications both in person and over the phone.
Answer phone calls, emails, and online inquiries, providing information about hotel amenities, room availability, and local attractions.
Resolve guest concerns and complaints promptly, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Process payments, including credit card and cash transactions, and provide accurate change or receipts.
Maintain a clean and organized front desk area, including ensuring that brochures, guest information, and other materials are stocked and up to date.
Assist with guest requests for services, such as room service, transportation, and wake-up calls.
Manage and update room availability and reservations through the hotel’s property management system.
Collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, and other hotel departments to ensure that guest needs are met and issues are resolved.
Provide guests with information about the hotel’s services and local attractions, offering recommendations when appropriate.
Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Handle lost and found items and ensure they are properly recorded and returned to guests.
Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as filing, reporting, and maintaining accurate records.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; some college education is a plus.
Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in using computers and hotel management software.
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Basic math skills for handling payments and transactions.
Problem-solving skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry light items, such as guest luggage or office supplies (up to 20 lbs).
Ability to handle multiple phone lines and interact with guests simultaneously.

Compensation

Competitive pay $20 per hour based on experience
