Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating manual machining equipment to produce precision metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Your expertise in mechanical blueprint interpretation, measurement techniques, and machining tools will ensure the highest quality standards are met. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex manufacturing projects, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and manual machining skills to deliver exceptional results.

Duties

Set up and operate manual machining tools such as lathes, grinders, calipers, micrometers, and hand tools to produce parts with precision.
Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately, ensuring all specifications are met during machining processes.
Perform measurements using precision measuring instruments like bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) for quality control.
Execute machine setups, including aligning tooling and calibrating equipment to ensure accurate production runs.
Use M-code and G-code programming knowledge to assist with CNC programming when necessary, supporting seamless integration with manual processes.
Conduct quality inspections during and after machining using measurement tools to verify dimensions and tolerances in accordance with GD&T standards.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and properly handling power tools, grinding machines, and tooling equipment.

Experience

Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications.
Knowledge of machining tools, measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers), and precision measurement techniques essential for quality control.
Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and measurements accurately.
Experience working with various materials including metals and plastics injection molding components is advantageous.
