Full Job Description

Tierra, Inc. is actively seeking a Junior Level Structural / Civil Engineer to join our Facilities Consulting team in Winter Garden, Florida. Prospective candidate should have immediate ability to submit a resume and list of references. The candidate should have an interest in the building envelope industry, performing evaluations/investigations, and quality assurance/control services, a desire to conduct field work, and be able to communicate, both written and verbal, in a technical manner.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Help conduct field investigations and analyze failures involving the building envelope
Perform Quality Assurance inspections for on-going construction projects
Perform Field Quality Control Testing
Write detailed technical reports documenting field work
Perform basic engineering calculations
Communicate with contractors, tradesman, and clients

The right candidate must be:

Willing and able to travel throughout the State of Florida
Willing to work a flexible schedule and additional hours during periods of peak business demand
Organized with the ability to work independently and efficiently on multiple projects
Adaptable with the aptitude and willingness to learn new skills and techniques
Team oriented

Minimum Qualifications:

0 to 2 years experience, preferably with a construction background
Hold a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to defend and support conclusions
Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing approximately 50 pounds or more
Ability to climb onto roofs, ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc.
Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
