**Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our law enforcement team as Police Officer. As a Police Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining public safety and upholding the law within our community.

**Duties:**
- Enforce laws, respond to emergency calls, and patrol assigned areas
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview witnesses
- Make arrests and participate in court proceedings
- Provide assistance to the public and ensure community safety
- Write detailed reports and maintain accurate records of incidents
- Look for suspicious activities and check on suspicious persons
- Respond to disturbance calls
- Arrests suspects who violate the law
- Respond to dispatched calls and complaints
- Assists in criminal investigations along with presenting evidence in court
- Assists in interviewing victims and witnesses
- Process property and evidence
- Record and present evidence in court cases
- Maintain a physical presence at events to prevent behavioral problems
- An employee will also perform other task as assigned and required by the Chief

**Qualifications:**
- Candidates interested in this role must have a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- MUST have a Current Virginia Law Enforcement Certification.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Live or be willing to move within a 60 mile radius of Haymarket.
- Have the ability to read and comprehend Virginia Code and Departmental Policies.
- Write incident reports and other documents using proper grammar, punctuation and spelling.
- Have the ability to speak effectively and communicate with the public.
- Knowledge of police methods, practices and procedures.
- Previous experience in law enforcement.
- Knowledge of criminal investigation techniques.
- Proficiency in surveillance methods and evidence collection.
- Qualify with departmental issued weapons
- Pass an extensive background investigation.
- Pass a physical.
