Job Overview
Loudoun Sports Training (LST) is seeking a creative, dependable, and motivated Freelance Videographer/Video Editor to capture the stories, athletes, events, and community impact of our organization. This role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including sports events, training sessions, interviews, promotional campaigns, documentaries, social media content, and special events.
The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, comfortable working independently and collaboratively, and can produce high-quality content from concept through final delivery.
Responsibilities
- Capture high-quality video and photography at sporting events, practices, camps, interviews, community outreach programs, and promotional activities.
- Record professional-quality audio using appropriate microphones and recording equipment.
- Edit videos for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, websites, presentations, and marketing campaigns.
- Create highlight reels, promotional videos, testimonials, documentaries, advertisements, and event recaps.
- Incorporate motion graphics, titles, transitions, music, sound effects, and color correction to produce polished content.
- Organize and maintain project files, footage libraries, and media assets.
- Travel to various recording locations throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., and other assigned locations.
- Work closely with coaches, athletes, administrators, and marketing staff to execute creative projects.
- Participate in planning meetings to develop creative concepts and production schedules.
- Meet project deadlines while maintaining high production quality.
- Represent Loudoun Sports Training professionally during events and while interacting with clients, partners, and the community.
Work Schedule
- Flexible scheduling based on project needs
- Evening and weekend availability is preferred for sporting events.
- Combination of on-site filming and remote editing.
- Remote work is welcomed once editing standards have been established through initial training and project approval.
- Hours vary by project and season.
Mobile Phone & Communication Expectations
The successful candidate should:
- Use a smartphone for communication, scheduling, and production coordination.
- Respond promptly to calls, texts, emails, and project updates.
- Capture occasional behind-the-scenes content or quick social media clips using a mobile device when requested.
- Upload footage and communicate project progress using cloud-based platforms.
- Maintain professional communication with team members and clients throughout each project.

Skills & Qualifications
- Experience filming with DSLR, mirrorless, cinema, or professional video cameras.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, and other Adobe Creative Suite applications.
- Experience with Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve is a plus.
- Strong understanding of camera settings, lighting, composition, and storytelling.
- Knowledge of audio recording and sound editing techniques.
- Experience creating short-form social media content and long-form video projects.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a creative team.
- Reliable transportation for travel to filming locations.
- Ability to lift and transport camera equipment when necessary.
