We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Cardiovascular Ultrasound Technologist to join our expanding cardiovascular practice. This role is ideal for an experienced sonographer who is passionate about delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
The Cardiovascular Ultrasound Technologist performs a variety of non-invasive cardiac and vascular ultrasound procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical skills, exceptional patient care abilities, and a commitment to clinical excellence.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive adult echocardiograms, including 2D, M-Mode, Doppler, and Color Flow imaging.
- Perform vascular ultrasound studies, including:
- Carotid Duplex Ultrasounds
- Arterial Duplex Studies
- Venous Duplex Studies
- ABI/TBI Testing
- Other non-invasive vascular examinations as ordered.
- Obtain high-quality diagnostic images while adhering to established protocols and accreditation standards.
- Accurately document findings and prepare preliminary technical reports for physician interpretation.
- Maintain patient safety, comfort, privacy, and confidentiality throughout all procedures.
- Verify physician orders and patient history prior to examinations.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, vascular specialists, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and report equipment concerns as needed.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and patient safety requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation readiness activities.
- Maintain continuing education requirements and professional certifications.
Qualifications Required
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Cardiovascular Technology, or Ultrasound Technology program.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience performing echocardiography and/or vascular ultrasound studies.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, vascular anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and ultrasound reporting systems.
Preferred
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI.
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through ARDMS.
- Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through CCI.
- Prior experience in an outpatient cardiovascular or specialty clinic setting.
- Experience working in a fast-paced ambulatory environment.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the clinic for extended periods.
- Ability to position and assist patients during imaging procedures.
- Ability to lift and transport equipment and supplies up to 25 pounds as needed.
