Full Job Description

Job Overview:

Cucinelli Geiger seeks a detail-oriented and professional Legal Assistant to join our Estate Planning practice. This position is ideal for a recent college graduate or an early-career professional with a strong interest in the legal field, estate planning, and helping clients navigate important life decisions. Prior estate planning experience is not required. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, highly organized, and committed to providing exceptional client service.

Successful candidates will possess strong communication abilities, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. The Legal Assistant will play a key role in supporting client intake, document preparation, scheduling, and ensuring a positive client experience throughout the estate planning process.

Responsibilities include:

Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective and existing clients, providing professional and responsive client service.
Conduct client intake, gather preliminary information, and assist with onboarding new clients.
Prepare and send engagement letters and related client correspondence.
Maintain attorney calendars, schedule consultations, meetings, signing appointments, and follow-up calls.
Coordinate document signing appointments, witness and notary arrangements, and conference room scheduling.
Assist with the preparation, organization, and assembly of estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance medical directives, and special needs planning documents.
Create and assemble estate planning binders and client document packages.
Open, maintain, and organize physical and electronic client files.
Track outstanding information and documents needed from clients and perform follow-up communications to ensure timely completion of matters.
Maintain case and matter status updates and assist with workflow management.
Communicate with clients regarding appointments, document collection, and next steps in the planning process.
Answer phones, manage incoming correspondence, and route inquiries appropriately.
Assist attorneys and paralegals with administrative and project-related tasks as needed.

Ideal Candidates will have:

1–3 years of experience in estate planning, trusts and estates, or a related legal practice area.
Strong understanding of estate planning documents and related legal terminology.
Excellent organizational, time-management, and client service skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
