Press Operator – 2nd Shift
Position Summary
The Press Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating metal-forming and stamping presses to produce quality parts according to customer specifications, production schedules, and company standards. This position works primarily on second shift and requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate mechanical, hydraulic, or punch presses used in metal manufacturing.
- Load and unload metal materials and position components correctly in dies and fixtures.
- Monitor press operation and make adjustments to maintain part quality and production requirements.
- Perform basic machine setup, including die changes, tooling adjustments, and material alignment.
- Inspect finished parts using gauges, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring equipment.
- Identify defective parts, machine problems, or tooling issues and notify the appropriate supervisor or maintenance personnel.
- Complete production paperwork, inspection records, and other required documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow 5S practices.
- Follow all OSHA, company safety, PPE, lockout/tagout, and quality procedures.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance as assigned.
- Meet established production goals while maintaining quality standards.
- Work cooperatively with other operators, leads, quality personnel, and maintenance staff.
Schedule: Second Shift — typically afternoon/evening hours, with exact schedule determined by the facility.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, press operation, metal stamping, or machine-operation experience preferred.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, blueprints, and basic production documents.
- Basic measurement skills and familiarity with precision measuring tools preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic machine issues.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Ability to safely lift and handle materials within the facility's established limits.
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime when required.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a metal manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, metal materials, lubricants, and varying temperatures. Proper PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe footwear, and other required protective equipment, must be worn.

Pay will be based on prior experience.
Leitchfield, Kentucky, in Grayson County, is 49 miles SE of Owensboro, Kentucky (center to center) and 61 miles SW of Louisville, Kentucky. Other nearby cities include Bowling Green and Elizabethtown.
Located between Nolin Lake and Rough River Dam State Park and near Mammoth Cave National Park. The land provides wildlife, fishing, hiking, camping, boating, and swimming.
Colleges and universities that offer courses for higher studies include the Elizabethtown Community College (branch location in Leitchfield), Western Kentucky University, University of Louisville, and Jefferson Community College.
