Full Job Description

TITLE: CLIENT SERVICES MANAGER

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Client Services Manager is responsible for monitoring customer service for a broad range of technology programs and systems provided to the schools. Coordinates the activities of school technicians and utilizes support from other functional areas with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods used, and employees to meet departmental deadlines and objectives. Supports the full system engineering lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, testing, and implementation. Ensures project schedules and performance requirements are met. Serves in a lead role and supervises all school technicians. May determine methods and procedures to be used on assignments. Makes recommendations for the technical direction and training of school technicians. Contributes to the development of the organization's goals and objectives. Regularly interacts with customers and/or functional peer group managers. Required to interact with senior district management and participate on the Technology Committee. Daily interactions normally involve matters between functional areas, school administration, technology users and the Technology department staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensing/Certifications:

● Valid North Carolina Driver’s License

● Certifications: A+ certification required at time of employment or achieved within one year of employment. Network +, Security + certifications not required but a plus. Additional certifications in Microsoft and/or CISCO a plus.

Education:

● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred

Experience:

● 5 years of successful similar experience in increasing levels of responsibility in the technology department.

● Ten years' experience in an enterprise network environment, or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which may include Telecommunications and or Computer/Network Engineering.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

● Manages customer relations and resources required to maintain data services in the schools.

● Supervises and coordinates the school technician installations, upgrades and repair of computer hardware, software, and other components used in the schools.

● Operates and maintains a work order system to track customer support tickets, turnaround time and projects.

● Participates in troubleshooting significant problems, monitors performance, and performs upgrades to hardware and software as required.

● Supervises and trains technician staff at the building level to follow proper operating procedures necessary to maintain the standards and integrity of the network.

● Maintains documentation regarding local school configurations, operating procedures, and inventory transactions relating to technology hardware and software.

● Assists in developing and providing training to building level faculty and staff in the proper operation of data systems.

● Develops and participates in long and short range technology planning with Technology leadership.

● Attends classes, seminars, conferences and reviews professional literature to enhance knowledge of trends and developments related to data systems used by the district.

● District provided cell phone is to be charged and reachable during off hours

● Available for after hours emergencies and weekends to assist critical personnel with the restoration of network services.

● Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving failures or mitigating Cybersecurity events.

● Duties as assigned by Director of Technology

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

● Strong knowledge of wide and local area network infrastructure equipment and systems

● Strong knowledge of computers and related technologies

● Strong knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Active Directory

● Functional knowledge of security technologies and systems

● Functional knowledge of principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation; general programs, policies, and practices used in education; client solutions such as systems analysis, evaluation, implementation and maintenance of enterprise computer systems and infrastructure

ABILITIES:

● Ability to supervise technical support staff and manage available resources to meet school technology needs

● Ability to plan and manage large projects and computer systems deployments

● Ability to communicate technical issues effectively with all levels of technology users and school administration while displaying effective interpersonal skills

● Ability to maintain acceptable turnaround times on work orders and manage equipment and parts inventory for quick problem resolution

● Ability to meet project deadlines and expectations of the Director of Technology and District Leadership

● Ability to lead within the Technology Department to develop a strong cohesive unit supporting all technology needs

● Ability to maintain knowledge and skill as required to stay current with emerging technologies

REPORTS TO: Director of Technology

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Strength and energy sufficient to maintain an active work schedule involving driving and/or physical exertion; hearing and speaking to exchange information; seeing to perform assigned duties requiring close vision and ability to adjust focus; ability to distinguish between colors; standing, stooping, or sitting for extended periods of time; frequently walking; kneeling, bending at the waist and knee, and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally as needed; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; frequently lifting and or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds; and ability to work at heights on ladders.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The employee regularly works in indoor conditions and regularly works near video display. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate. The employee interfaces with all levels of individuals within the school district.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months

SALARY GRADE: AA

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

OSHA: An employee in this position is not to handle any human body fluids, biological agents, laboratory chemicals, or be exposed to hazardous materials such as noise, asbestos, or carcinogens.
