Full Job Description

Patient care coordinator full-time opportunity available to help at the front desk of a plastic surgery practice caring for both cosmetic and reconstructive surgical patients. The work would consist mainly of phone reception, rooming patients, insurance verification, payment collection, surgical pre-authorization, diagnostic imaging pre-authorization, scheduling surgeries (office, surgery center and/or hospital based), medication intake, cleaning procedure rooms, autoclaving, creating quotes, checking patients in & out, fax triage, referrals, and assisting with company marketing, reviews, and photos. Candidates savvy with cosmetic plastic surgery and marketing or interested in those fields are desired. Also, candidates with previous experience in a medical office with knowledge about health insurance and/or preauthorization of procedures is desirable but not necessary.

Front office (main daily responsibilities):

· Verifying patient insurance coverage and eligibility.

· Collecting payments from patients

· Checking in and checking out patients

· Preauthorizing insurance based plastic surgeries and diagnostic tests.

· Scheduling surgeries (office and OR)

· Completing surgery preoperative paperwork.

· Sending orders (ie. MRI, CT, physical therapy, lab work, etc) for the physician.

· Completing disability paperwork for patients.

· Completing pre-post op photography.

· Answering patient phone calls & returning voicemails

· Scheduling patient appointments.

· Triaging referrals and medical information requests.

· Working in – epic, eCW, PDF editor, availity.

· Greeting and rooming of patients with other front staff.

Back office (cross-covering in-room medical assisting, when needed):

· Completing medical intake

· Completing pre-post op photography

· Acquiring consent for procedures

· Preparing pathology paperwork and specimens and coordinating pick up

· Scheduling patients for follow-up appointments

· Cleaning procedure rooms for next patient

· Sterilizing instruments

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of insurance verification, preauthorization of procedures, and sending medical orders.
Familiarity with cosmetic and plastic surgery is highly desirable.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on providing exceptional patient care.
