A collaborative bakery, café and kitchen in the heart of Ghent, NY.

Hello!

We are seeking to expand our team and are looking for talented individuals to join us just up the road from Hudson, NY.

This is a great opportunity for those looking to build their culinary career by participating in the production of elevated rustic artisan baked goods at a renowned Hudson Valley hotspot. Bartlett House is a destination bakery, kitchen and café working with local farms, makers, and distributors to create dishes that fully embrace the bounty we are surrounded by. The historic Italianate building, originally designed as an cross-tracks railroad inn over 150 years ago, has become a Hudson Valley institution since its revitalization in 2016 by founders Lev Glazman and Alina Roytberg.

Current Positions Available:

Baker - Skills Desired:

-1+ years of baking experience: pastry/bread bakes, prep tasks and cleanup (strongly preferred, but not required as we will train the right candidates)

-Ability to work early mornings (starting at 4 am)

-Safe food handling & hygiene

-Strong work ethic and personal accountability

-Strong attention to detail

-Reliable, punctual, and available

-Genuinely passionate about quality baking and willing to learn

-Cleaning & Sanitation

-Professional baking experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and baking of various bread and pastry items, ensuring high-quality standards. This can range from baking breads & pastries to mixing doughs, shaping & proofing breads, laminating croissant doughs, shaping viennoiserie, and preparing various other pastries.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery workspace and equipment.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely, efficient & sanitary production of baked goods.
Follow food handling and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Maintain punctuality and reliability for 4am shifts.
