Full Job Description

A licensed home care agency opening its Manhattan door properly — and you are the person behind it.

People Care has served New York patients and families for 50 years. We employ roughly 4,300 caregivers across New York City and Long Island. This is a brand-new seat in our Manhattan office — you own onboarding and you are the first person our aides meet when they walk in.

WHAT YOU OWN

Onboarding for Manhattan, start to finish. Paperwork complete and correct the first time, credentials and compliance items collected, nothing left half-finished between offices.
The walk-in experience. Aides who come through our Manhattan door are greeted, helped and documented consistently — availability captured properly, questions answered or routed, nothing handled off the books.
Being the People Department in Manhattan. The local point of contact for aides and staff on onboarding, documentation and general questions, escalating to Brooklyn where it belongs.
Clean records. Manhattan documentation current and audit-ready, held to the same standard as our Brooklyn office.

WHO YOU ARE

You are someone who cares deeply about the people walking through the door. You are transparent — you surface a problem early rather than hoping it resolves itself. You go beyond what the task asks when someone’s start date depends on it. You row together with Brooklyn rather than working around them.

2+ years or more in HR, People, onboarding, staffing, or a high-volume administrative coordination role.
Comfortable being the only person from your department in the building. Self-directed, and you know when to escalate.
Accurate under interruption. Documentation and compliance detail stay right even on a busy walk-in day.
Clear, calm communication with candidates, aides and colleagues — including the difficult conversations.
Comfort in a structured operating system (we run on EOS).
Available to work in both Manhattan and Brooklyn. This seat covers two offices.

STRONGLY PREFERRED

Bilingual English and Spanish. A large share of the aides who walk through our doors are Spanish speakers, and the onboarding conversation goes better in their own language.

NICE TO HAVE

Home care, healthcare staffing, or LHCSA experience.
Familiarity with HHAeXchange or a comparable platform.
Any additional language spoken by our aide population.

WHY THIS SEAT MATTERS

People Care has served New York patients and families for 50 years. We have aides, patients and staff in Manhattan — and no dedicated People presence there. Today, someone who walks in gets helped by whoever happens to be at the desk, or gets sent back to Brooklyn. This seat changes that. It is a genuinely new job, and the person who takes it gets to define how it runs.

ROOM TO GROW

We are being straight with you: this is scoped as a coordinator role, and we are not finished designing what our Manhattan presence looks like. As the site and the volume grow, the natural path from this seat is into a manager or site-lead role. We would rather tell you that honestly than hand you an inflated title we cannot yet stand behind.

WHAT YOU GET

Full-Time Stability. 40 hours per week in a 50-year New York institution.

Direct line to leadership. You report to the VP of People — your escalations are heard by the person who can act on them.

OFFICE & SCHEDULE

In office, 40 hours per week, across both our Manhattan office at 116 West 32nd Street and our Brooklyn office at 1649 61st Street.

You must be available to work in both boroughs. This role exists to be present in those offices, soit is not remote and not hybrid. Expect some travel to our Queens office as the work requires.
