Bratslavsky Consulting Engineers, Inc., an engineering & construction management company is currently looking to hire a full-time Construction Inspector (CI) to provide construction inspection services in USCG Base Charleston in North Charleston, South Carolina. The Construction Inspector will be responsible for the following:
- Perform detailed inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with contract drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor workmanship across multiple disciplines, including structural, electrical, architectural, and civil construction.
- Review project documentation, drawings, and technical specifications to assess compliance.
- Document inspection findings, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders including contractors, quality control personnel, and government representatives.
- Support oversight of project delivery methods such as design-bid-build and design-build.

Salary: $110,000.00 - $156,000.00 per year

Minimum Experience/Technical Requirements for Construction Inspectors:
Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:
Option 1 - Minimum of 10 years of construction experience as a Construction Inspector, Contractor Superintendent, or Quality Control Manager.
Option 2 - Minimum of 5 years of construction experience as a Construction Inspector, Contractor Superintendent, or Quality Control Manager; and a 4-year degree in Engineering, Professional Engineer (PE) license, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or relevant QA/QC certification obtained within the last 10 years.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of construction trades and building systems.
- Experience with utilities including electrical, water, sanitary sewer, stormwater, and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Knowledge of applicable local and national building codes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PDF documentation, digital photography, and construction management software.
Federal Project Experience:
Candidate should demonstrate:
- At least 2 years of experience on Federal Government construction projects within the last 10 years as a Construction Inspector, Contractor Superintendent, or Quality Control Manager.
- Experience inspecting projects involving one or more of the following: Electrical generation and distribution systems, water storage tanks, pumps, and distribution systems, stormwater infrastructure
- U.S. Coast Guard project experience is highly desirable.
