Job Summary
DND Solutions is seeking an Electronic Security Systems Technician to install intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, and IP video surveillance systems at secure facilities throughout the United States.
This is a hands-on field position working under the direction of a Lead Technician. The Electronic Security Systems Technician will assist with installation, termination, testing, programming, troubleshooting, and project documentation while following company procedures, project requirements, and site-specific security rules.
Projects may include correctional facilities, military installations, federal buildings, healthcare facilities, commercial facilities, and other controlled-access environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and terminate intrusion detection, access control, CCTV, and IP video surveillance systems.
- Install control panels, power supplies, card readers, request-to-exit devices, door contacts, locks, sensors, cameras, intercoms, and related equipment.
- Pull, route, support, label, and terminate low-voltage cabling.
- Assist with system programming, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Mount, aim, focus, and test IP cameras.
- Test device operation, alarm inputs, relay outputs, door functions, and video recording.
- Read and follow security drawings, wiring diagrams, risers, device schedules, and installation details.
- Maintain accurate cable labels, device records, test results, redlines, and daily work documentation.
- Identify installation conflicts, material shortages, and equipment issues and report them to the Lead Technician.
- Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and assigned work areas.
- Follow all company safety procedures and site-specific security requirements.
- Support punch-list completion, system turnover, and project closeout.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of electronic security, low-voltage, or structured cabling experience.
- Experience installing at least one of the following:
- Access control systems
- Intrusion detection systems
- CCTV or IP video surveillance systems
- Ability to terminate low-voltage cabling and field devices.
- Basic knowledge of relays, inputs, outputs, power supplies, and low-voltage circuits.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and cable testers.
- Ability to read basic construction drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow direction.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass drug screening, background checks, and project-specific security screening.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, use aerial lifts, and work above ceilings or in confined spaces.
- Ability to travel nationwide and remain away from home for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise access control, intrusion detection, or video management systems.
- Manufacturer training or certifications from Axis, Avigilon, Genetec, Milestone, Identiv, LenelS2, Bosch, Honeywell, DMP, Gallagher, AMAG, Hanwha, Pelco, or similar manufacturers.
- ESA, NICET, BICSI, or related industry certification.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Basic understanding of IP addressing, PoE, network switches, and DHCP.
- Experience with electrified door hardware.
- Experience working in correctional, military, federal, or other secure facilities.
- Experience installing conduit, cable tray, J-hooks, sleeves, and firestopping systems.
Position Details
- 100% nationwide travel.
- Work may include nights, weekends, extended shifts, and multi-week rotations.
