POSITION SUMMARY:

The Investigation-Remediation Project Manager/Senior Project Manager will lead a variety of environmental tasks, as required by client projects, including federal, state, local, and commercial/industrial clients. This individual will be responsible for oversight and management of a portfolio of environmental investigation and remediation projects, managing field staff, reviewing reports drafted by junior staff, and writing reports, when necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develop and implement project scope of work and budgets, as requested by clients, or as required by each project.
Manage and conduct Phase I and Phase II ESAs, if necessary.
Oversee and ensure that field personnel perform the fieldwork in accordance with the project work plan.
Review/edit field documentation reports and data summary tables prepared by staff and/or subcontractors.
Prepare key project deliverables (including Phase I ESAs, summary reports, Phase II ESA/investigation reports, remediation work plans, design documents, quarterly monitoring reports, etc.) in accordance with client and applicable regulatory requirements, with minimal supervision and no prompting from senior management.
Prepare proposals, project technical reports/deliverables, and regulatory compliance submissions, with minimal to no supervision.
Review and approve subcontractor invoices and employee expenses for billing and accounts payable.
Effectively communicate and coordinate project progress, schedules, problems, etc. in a timely manner with clients, regulatory personnel, and stakeholders as well as supervisors and staff associated with projects being managed.
Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary project teams and nationwide company offices and client/project locations.
Generate routine documents used for internal reporting.
Assist project teams in developing and executing technical approaches to problem-solving, specifically as it relates to preparing design-phase documents, obtaining project permits, and implementing remedial construction.
Perform construction field inspection activities.
Understand client needs and build and maintain trusted client relationships.
Manage financial and technical aspects of projects.
Execute projects to meet technical, quality, budgetary and scheduling requirements.
Assign and manage work effectively.

Activities include, but are not limited to, procedure review and implementation, internally auditing, and training.

Must be aware of project administration needs including recognizing the need for scope changes on a project, maintaining project files and project financial performance, then report appropriately internally and to clients on status of projects.
Maintain and improve working knowledge and application of current regulatory requirements and guidance. Coordinate with other staff to develop strategies to ensure BCA is appropriately applying regulatory requirements at our client facilities.
Work on a team with BCA personnel on BCA marketing initiatives. Activities may include, but are not limited to, database review for lead generation, internal database maintenance, email marketing, and article writing.
Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner, working in accordance with established safety and company requirements. Conducts periodic job site safety observations and participate in group safety meetings and job site tailgate safety meetings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Expereince woring with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) and the USEPA Region 4.
Experience with all or various aspects of environmental property assessment (Phase I / II Environmental Site Assessments), subsurface investigation, and/or remediation of soil, groundwater, vapor, or other media.
Experience with report writing, managing budgets, drafting proposals, preparing work scopes and cost estimates, and implementing field investigation and remediation projects.
Strong organizational skills and attention to technical details.
Project management experience on environmental projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD and other related software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient at writing, reviewing and editing technical reports to meet scope and quality objectives and client expectations.
Must have or be able to obtain OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training.
Must have or be able to obtain OSHA 8-Hour HAZWOPER Supervisor training.
Team leadership and management skills with attention to quality, time management, efficiency, and mentoring.
Advanced technical writing skills.
Knowledge of and experience with RCRA, CERCLA, DoD, DOE, or USEPA projects.
Creative problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects or issues simultaneously.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to perform physical field work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Must be capable of accessing Department of Defense properties based upon a background check.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in geology, environmental science, engineering, or a related field is required, including but not limited to, chemistry or biology.
10+ years of PROFESSIONAL experience within the environmental consulting discipline (Phase I ESAs, summary reports, Phase II ESAs, environmental remediation, remediation action plans, quarterly reports, design documents, etc.).
