Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Executive Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee all kitchen operations. This role is vital in delivering exceptional food experiences, maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation, and ensuring efficient kitchen management. The ideal candidate will bring extensive culinary expertise, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to managing food production, inventory control, and team supervision. Duties

Lead and supervise all kitchen staff, fostering a positive, team-oriented environment while ensuring high performance standards.
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards consistent with fine dining or catering expectations.
Manage daily kitchen operations including shift management, scheduling, and coordinating food service activities.
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with culinary staff, considering dietary restrictions, seasonal ingredients, and customer preferences.
Ensure strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures, proper food handling practices, and sanitation standards to maintain health department compliance.
Control inventory levels through effective inventory management and inventory control practices; order supplies as needed to prevent shortages or excess.
Implement cost control measures while maintaining quality; monitor food production costs and optimize resource utilization.
Oversee catering events and banquet services, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality dishes for large-scale functions.
Maintain detailed records of kitchen operations, including shift reports, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement by training staff on food safety procedures, culinary techniques, and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

Familiarity with seafood / fish focused menu strongly preferred.
Proven experience in food production within fine dining establishments or catering environments; banquet experience preferred.
Demonstrated supervising experience with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
Strong background in dietary department operations and food safety sanitizing procedures.
Extensive culinary experience with proficiency in cooking techniques and menu planning.
Knowledge of inventory management systems and inventory control practices.
Experience managing food service operations in restaurant or hospitality settings; restaurant management background is highly desirable.
Familiarity with catering services, shift management, and food handling regulations.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in cost control and food quality standards.
