Full Job Description

Miller Mayer Sullivan & Stevens, a public accounting firm located in Lexington, Kentucky, is seeking an experienced audit professional with 5+ years of public accounting audit experience to join our team on a recurring seasonal basis. This position is an excellent opportunity for a qualified individual seeking meaningful, professional work during specific months of the year, while maintaining flexibility during the remainder of the year. It is particularly well-suited for someone looking to align their work schedule with the school calendar.

With deep expertise in audit and tax services, we serve over 300 affordable housing complexes regulated by HUD, USDA Rural Development, and LIHTC, as well as small businesses, local governments, and not-for-profit agencies.

Job Responsibilities:

Plan, supervise, and complete audit engagements including reviewing engagement workpapers, resolving problems, and keeping the manager/partner informed of all important engagement developments
Supervise co-workers, providing feedback to them, and evaluating their progress
Be familiar with applicable pronouncements of the FASB, AICPA, and other professional standards, as needed
Develop effective client relationships through professionalism and follow-through
Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients
Maintain a professional demeanor with co-workers and clients
Manage client relationships and adhere to deadlines
Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Desired Skills & Expertise:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting
Confidentiality, careful work, and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment.

Schedule:

Required seasonal (January 2nd – March 31st), other months as needed
